So, I am actually pretty lucky when it comes to casinos. People say that the only way to beat the house is to not play. But out of 13 casino trips I’ve won money 11 times. Most of those times is because I walk away from the table when I’m up like $30 or $50 and don’t look back. So, maybe it’s more a discipline thing than a luck thing. The only time I won a significant amount of money was recently at the Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon several months ago as Cheri and I were dodging wild fires and lost our acting gig when the show was forced to cancel. We were on our way back to California, but had to take a 100-plus mile detour because of wild fires blocking a freeway. We just happened to come across the Seven Feathers along that alternate route. Since we were just sort of trapped there, and since the air was so full of smoke OUTSIDE the casino that we didn’t mind hanging out inside the smoking casino, we stayed in their RV parking for 3 days. I won $800 on that trip mostly playing craps. That wasn’t luck or discipline, that was more like Providence just forcing me to take the money.
Gambling tip: People in Hawaii go crazy for Vegas. If you ever find yourself at a craps table and there are two or more people there from Hawaii, chances are it will be a winning table.
