Matt has seen Java maul enough customers that he knows his tells. So although Java may look innocent and curious in panel 3, Willow is obviously in imminent danger.
Hopefully, there will not be any repercussions for Matt after he deprives Java of his prey.
Starting today, by the time this strip goes live, I will be once again on the road in the Java Mobile driving from the East Coast to Texas over the next 10-ish days. Then from Texas to California in four days after a short sit near Austin. Hopefully, my digital nomad lifestyle won’t impact my webcomic release schedule.
Also, hopefully, most of the shutdowns and riots will be done by then.
