A follow up on those earlier speed drawings where now they become speed painting. This is using the Colorize feature in Clip Studio Paint Pro, which usually creates a blurry, water-colorey fill of paint over the entire page. The default setting is a “multiply” layer. So I just duplicate the layer, use the Tonal Correction feature to decrease the saturation and luminosity to give it a darker, noir feel. Then I use the airbrush tool to “paint with transparency” to eliminate some of the top shadowy layer. Except on the Elektra one, the extra layers weren’t quite dark enough so I added some shadows with the airbrush to the top layer. Quick and sloppy process, with videos in real time to show how phoned in my coloring is… 🙂
