Work In Progress, the Sequel
Continuing on my Kick Page which is due to publish tomorrow… We left off with the layer I call “rough.” Basically charcoal and pencils to block out the characters positions, shapes, general features.
The layer tab has a function to change the color of the entire layer. The default is set to blue. I think this is for those old-school artists that used to have to draw their pencils with special blue Xerox pencils that the inker would then just draw their inks over.
Then start a new layer for the inks. I use the Clip Studio G-Pen brush. I also set the stability level pretty high to get smoother lines.
Hide the blue layer. Don’t delete it ever! Otherwise how would you be able to go back and make a documentary about your process like I’m doing now?
Then, color. I keep most of my colors that I use frequently on it’s own layer. Because I’m too lazy to learn how to actually replace the colors on the default color palette. Otherwise I’ll usually randomly grab colors using the color wheel.
Here’s the final product (minus words, because spoilers).
